The proposed Roudham and Larling development could eventually see homes built on land around two tiny villages currently with about 120 properties between them.

But officials at Norfolk County Council have warned the roads surrounding the area would not cope with the scale of development.

The area, close to the A11 between Thetford and Attleborough, is among sites slated for inclusion in Breckland District Council's local plan.

That document sets out where new homes could be acceptable for construction over the next two decades.

It comes after Breckland invited suggestions for potential development sites to help hit government housing targets.

But County Hall officials have revealed "significant" concerns about plans for almost 14,000 acres of land near Roudham and Larling - two villages that currently only have about 120 houses between them.

Known as the Roudham and Larling Strategic Development Area, what would effectively be a new settlement, it is made up of five sites where homes and employment land is proposed, including near the A11, Illington Road,........
