How are cattle coping with the heatwave at the Royal Norfolk Show?
Livestock competitions have begun at the major two-day agricultural event, where temperatures are forecast to climb beyond 30C.
Working with six on-site vets and animal welfare experts, organisers at the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association introduced a series of extra precaution to ensure the safety of the 3,000 animals on the showground.
They include deploying added drinking water troughs and fan systems in the cattle sheds to cool the animals down, while some competition classes could be rescheduled to cooler parts pf the day.
As the first cattle headed out to the show rings this morning, farmers were confident their animals can deal with the hot conditions.
