But a row has broken out over visitors parking on a roadside verge leading to a picturesque harbour.

The parish council has fenced off the strip of land along Harbour Way at Brancaster Staithe to stop people driving over it, after spending thousands on re-seeding it with grass and laying matting to protect it.

The council, which manages parts of the National Trust-owned harbour which are classed as a village green, had previously tried laying railway sleepers to prevent parking, but people moved them aside........
