Lidl’s bid to open at Beacon Park, at the edge of the Norfolk town, is facing opposition from officials at Norfolk County Council.

Officers at County Hall, which acts as the lead authority on flooding in Norfolk, have objected to the chain’s proposals as they have “significant concerns” about the potential for flooding at the site.
