Extra £13.5m needed for restoration of 'nationally significant' landmark building
Officials at Great Yarmouth Borough Council (GYBC) say the original £21.2 million budget for the regeneration of the Winter Gardens falls short of the now-expected cost of the project.
New figures show restoring the Grade II* glasshouse, which has been shut since 2008, will now cost £34.7 million, with rising construction costs and supply strain pressures being placed on the council's coffers.

The council started work on the project in 2025, with the building considered nationally significant due to it being the UK's last surviving seafront........
