Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council

Clare Lavelle has been appointed industry co-chair of the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) for a two-year term.

She currently serves as project director for Buchan Offshore Wind and succeeds Claire Mack in the role.

Clare brings more than 20 years of experience across energy and infrastructure, having worked on projects involving electricity networks, offshore wind, hydrogen and the wider energy transition.

She will provide strategic leadership to SOWEC and help support the sustainable growth of Scotland’s offshore wind sector.

Industry body Humber Marine & Renewables has appointed Tony Appleton to its board.

Based in Grimsby, the organisation supports the region’s marine and renewable energy sectors through industry advocacy, networking and promotion.
