Now, that legacy is being reshaped for a net‑zero future through the Bacton Hydrogen Hub (BH2) – a project designed to deliver low‑carbon energy security while creating tangible local benefits for East Anglia and beyond.

“What is required is flexible, dispatchable, low‑carbon power located close to demand. BH2 is designed precisely to meet that need.”
Building on Bacton’s strategic foundations
One of BH2’s strengths is that it builds on what already exists. Bacton is a major gas-processing hub with extensive infrastructure, skilled workers and proximity to offshore carbon storage sites.
