India must back Israel to dismantle radical Iranian regime
Reports are that after it eliminated radical Iran’s then Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28, Jerusalem has removed many of its key regime officials, including Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s National Security Council; Ismail Khatib, Iranian Intelligence Minister; Ali Mohammad Naini, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesperson; Mahdi Rostami Shamstan, senior commander in Iran’s intelligence ministry; Esmail Ahmadi, the Basij militia’s intelligence chief; and Gholam Reza Soleimani, senior Basij militia commander. However, Jerusalem is still far from accomplishing its main objectives in its current war—dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, destroying its ballistic missile capabilities, and creating conditions for the Iranian people to determine their own future.
One would suggest Israel must intensify its campaign against Iran until all its objectives in the current war against Iran are met. In this Israeli enterprise, India, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other powerful world democracies must back it fully. It is very much in their interest to back the Jewish state in the matter.
The Israeli action is very much in harmony with what any dispensation in New Delhi itself must practice—the time-tested ancient Indian scriptural commandment to permanently eliminate the evil (dushta) for the sake of inclusive justice to the larger humanity. Since the fall of the Shah regime in Iran in 1979, Tehran has sought to impose its version of Islamic rule the world over. This poses a threat to the values of India.
Unfortunately, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Canada do not seem to accurately view the Iranian threat to their values. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is said to be talking of the “lack” of a mandate from the United Nations, the European Union, or NATO in the current war against radical Iran. French President Emmanuel Macron is for a “calm” approach in the matter. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is stressing his national “principles”. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is for “no offensive role against Iran.”
Besides, one would suggest, Jerusalem could reach out to the Kurds in its action against the Iranian regime. It could adequately train and arm them to struggle for the realization of their political goals. The Kurds’ predicament in the region is well documented. Jerusalem could also approach New Delhi to help the Kurds. It is very much in India’s interest to advance the cause of Kurdish freedom and democracy. Kurds. Kurds are basically Indo-Iranians. Some of them still practice Zoroastrianism which has had links with Hinduism.
Lastly, one would suggest, the Iranian people must come forward more actively in the Israeli enterprise to dismantle their tyrannical regime and replace it with the democratic one. The demonstrations they have made in Iran in recent days have so far been highly limited to a few locations. They have also been relatively small. Time is opportune for them to assert in a big way. The ongoing US-Israel operations against the current Iranian regime have created a deep government vacuum in the country. They could seize the opportunity.
