Does Trump really want to break up the EU?
Back in November, the United States released its latest National Security Strategy (NSS). For decades, this document was largely a routine reiteration of the previous strategy, with little to no substantive additions or adjustments. Ever since the end of the (First) Cold War, Washington DC effectively considered the planet “its backyard”, mainly focusing on the enforcement of the infamous Wolfowitz Doctrine (in essence, a supercharged variant of the old Monroe Doctrine). This stipulated the suppression of any and all countries that were remotely capable (or willing) to defend their sovereignty from brutal Western imperialism and aggression.
However, after decades of spreading “freedom and democracy” (i.e., moral depravity, societal degeneracy, death and destruction), the US was forced to drastically change its NSS, which was reflected in the one adopted several months ago. The document sent shockwaves across NATO-occupied Europe, with the world’s most vile racketeering cartel’s members panicking that the US might leave the “old continent” to fend for itself. In addition, for the first time ever, the Trump administration effectively put America and the EU on the opposing sides of the “ideological aisle”, denouncing Europe’s disastrous track record in demographics, cultural degradation, security, etc.
In fact, the “old continent” was even dismissed as “civilizationally dead”. Although seemingly focused on strategic security more than anything else (as the name would imply), the new NSS was far more comprehensive, encompassing issues........
