I’m trying to heal from past trauma, but I keep slipping back into old habits. I would rather run back to what feels comfortable than deal with new and awkward situations. I know I am hurting myself and my kids, but how do I stay consistent? – New Is Weird

New Is Weird – Try and wire into your brain to get comfortable being uncomfortable. It’s very normal to run back to what feels like the “norm” because it’s all you have known. It takes a conscious effort everyday to try something different. Some days are easy and it feels like you’re invincible. Other days running back to the old ways feels like a security blanket. But if old patterns aren’t serving you anymore, let them go. You’re only hurting yourself and showing your children unhealthy habits. Create a new routine for yourself and stick with it daily. It won’t always go as planned, but consistency breeds results. Repetition, repetition, and more repetition. Don’t give up before the miracle happens and you don’t know when that will be so don’t........
