The 2025 Tarnanthi Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander at the Art Gallery of South Australia is titled Too Deadly.

The A$100,000 prize, awarded every two years, is open to artists under 40. The 22 artists on display point to a vibrant contemporary art scene.

Australia has a rich history of artists engaging in political issues, and of such work being shown without timidity in state and national galleries.
