Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker sacks Brendan Boyle over voter ID
Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner once made a living decimating opponents on the gridiron. Last week, nearly 30 years after his last snap in the NFL, Joyner once again blasted an opponent with reckless abandon. Only this time, it wasn’t an opposing quarterback being sacked by Joyner, it was a Democratic congressman from Philadelphia — Rep. Brendan Boyle. And it wasn’t on a football field, but rather on social media while discussing the necessity for voter ID.
Joyner, who rarely makes political comments on social media, took to his X account to voice his support for voter ID laws. He called such measures “common sense” and expressed confusion about why any politician would be against them. His remarks came after the House passed the Save America Act last week by only five votes — a stunningly low margin that left Joyner dumbfounded.

“I usually stay away from politics, but this is simply common sense!” Joyner said. “Can we as an American citizen go to another country and partake by voting, in said countries elections? You need an ID for everything in life! Am I missing something here??? By 5 votes?? I’d love for someone to explain why a congressman/woman would vote no?”
