Oakwood Theme Park closing with 'surprised it’s managed this long' verdict

Wales Online readers have been expressing their feelings about the recent announcement that Oakwood Theme Park in Wales is shutting its doors, spurring a range of emotions in the comments section. After nearly four decades of operation, Oakwood Theme Park, the largest amusement park in Wales, has declared it will cease operations immediately due to dwindling visitor numbers and financial difficulties.

The Pembrokeshire-based attraction expressed "much sadness" over the decision. Spanish-owned leisure giant Aspro Parks, who acquired the park in 2008., said it had spent more than £25 million revamping the rides and facilities but had faced financial pressures it could not resolve. It is now removing the park's rides to use at its other attractions.
