I bet my wife I could do our grocery shop in five minutes with AI. I was wrong

Last week, my wife mentioned that I hadn’t pulled my weight on the weekly grocery shop, so I responded as any 40-year-old procrastinator would. Not by jumping in the car to head off and do the shopping. Instead, I told her I could do it in five minutes using AI. She bet me I couldn’t.Spoiler alert: she won.

So how did I set it up? I used the ChatGPT in-app browser, which lets the AI browse websites like a human. Instead of me opening a supermarket website, finding bananas and adding them to my cart, I could enter a prompt into ChatGPT to order bananas, and it would open the website and do the clicking for me.

Grocery shops are more complex than I realised. I connected it to our family Google Calendarand asked it to find a delivery window between weekend sport and kids’ parties. I gave it aspreadsheet of our favourite recipes for our suggested meals for the week.
