New Delhi: The first hearing in the specially designated fast-track court handling the NEET question paper leak case was adjourned on Monday (July 27) after no one appeared on behalf of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the case. The matter is now listed for hearing on August 3. Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced setting up of fast track courts for paper leaks just four days before this hearing.

The bail applications of accused Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal was listed before Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga.

“None appears on behalf of state till 10.45 a.m. to argue on the bail application,” the court said in the order, PTI reported.

Advocate A.P. Singh, appearing for the accused, also informed the court that he had other engagements in Rohini court and could not wait for more time for the CBI’s counsel.

“In view of the above, the present bail application will now be taken up on 03.08.2026 at 10.00 am,” the court was quoted as saying by The Hindu.

Further, the court has directed the director of prosecution to ensure that a public prosecutor is deputed to appear before it in future proceedings, TH report added.
