Amid the turmoil and conflict that engulfs our world, a few beacons of light have emerged, individuals who remained steadfast in their support for justice and truth. Among them are Erin Molan whose unswerving perseverance in defending the IDF and the Jewish state shine brightly in the darkness.

In the shadows of history’s darkest hours, during the Holocaust, a rare breed of individuals known as “Righteous Gentiles” arose. These people, despite having no personal stake, or shared heritage with the persecuted, were able to distinguish between light and darkness, good and evil, right and wrong. During the harrowing times of World War II, amidst the horrors of the Holocaust, these righteous gentiles defied the odds, risking their own safety and that of their loved ones to extend a helping hand to the oppressed Jewish people simply because it was the moral imperative.

Erin Molan is a valiant advocate for Israel and a staunch supporter of the Jewish people.  She has brought her voice to the global stage, challenging media bias and standing up against terrorism.  Erin is a fearless warrior in the court of public opinion, unwavering in her support of our much-maligned Jewish state.  Her commitment to truth and integrity, even despite threats, exemplifies the courage and moral clarity that define her character. In the face of adversity, Erin has remained a steadfast ally, a beacon of light in a world fraught with darkness.

Molan, an award-winning Australian broadcaster, embodies the essence of fearlessness and advocacy for Israel. Her sharp insights and unapologetic stance against terrorism and media bias against Israel make her one of Israel’s strongest international allies. Since the onset of the conflict, Molan has been an indefatigable voice in the discourse on Israel and Gaza, driven by a deep sense of morality instilled in her by her father and her firsthand experiences in Israel.

During my service I had the profound honour of meeting Erin during her inaugural visit to Israel, and I saw in her a sign of hope and courage. Despite having no personal ties to the region, she can always be counted on to clearly distinguish right from wrong. Her resolute stand for Israel, even in the face of threats to her and her family, is a testament to her deep commitment to justice.

In a world where moral clarity seems elusive, Erin’s unfaltering stance against evil forces such as Hamas is a stark reminder of the power of courage and conviction. Her words resonate with a truth that cuts through the noise of ambiguity and complacency. She challenges us all to choose our “hard,” to embrace the difficulties of standing up for what is right today to pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.

As Erin Molan fearlessly champions the cause of Israel, she embodies the spirit of the Righteous Gentiles who have come before her, bringing light to the darkest corners of our world. In a time where moral ambiguity clouds the judgment of many, and the lines between right and wrong may seem blurred, her courage and moral clarity serve as a guiding light, illuminating the path towards a better future. As she so eloquently stated:

Choose your ‘hard.’ I choose this ‘hard’ every day of the week. Because the ‘hard’ of these terrorists continues to terrorize, not just Israel, not just Jews, but the rest of us, the West and their own people. Without people stepping up to say ‘enough!’ there will be a far worse ‘hard’ world for my little girl to grow up in. Yes, it is hard, absolutely, yes, it’s impacted me in personal ways, in professional ways, in other ways. But I choose my ‘hard.’ My ‘hard’ is now because it means there will be less ‘hard’ later on.” –– The above contains an extract from my latest book “Heroes of PALMAR, How One IDF unit Revolutionised Combat Medicine in Gaza” (Gefen:2026).  Available on Amazon.com or Gefen.com.
