Adam Sandler Officiated Taylor’s Wedding. TikTok Booked the Israeli Honeymoon.

The evidence file against Taylor Swift contains no statements, no posts, no positions—just Jews.

Taylor Swift got married last Friday.

By Saturday, according to a rumor ricocheting across TikTok and X, she and Travis Kelce were honeymooning in Israel.

They weren’t. Nobody from either camp said a word about a honeymoon, in Israel or anywhere else. The story was assembled from exactly one data point: Adam Sandler officiated the wedding, and Adam Sandler is a Jew. And worse still, a Jew who has occasionally spoken out in support of Israel. From that—Jewish officiant, therefore Zionist wedding, therefore Israeli honeymoon—the internet built an itinerary. By Sunday brunch they had her floating in the Dead Sea.

For the record: I do not know Taylor Swift, and I work hard these days to keep my parasocial relationship with her within clinically acceptable limits. But I know the work. This is a woman who wrote a ten-minute elegy about a scarf. Her entire romantic vocabulary is auroras and sad prose. Left to her own devices, Taylor would have been married by the ghost of Emily Dickinson while a string quartet played “ivy” in the rain. Instead, we got the guy from Happy Gilmore—which is how I know, with the confidence of a woman who has sworn off Taylor Swift conspiracy theories and is about to relapse anyway, that Adam Sandler was a Travis call.

None of that mattered to the internet. “This woman is definitely Zionist MAGA,” one viral post concluded. The woman in question: Taylor Swift. The evidence: her wedding officiant.

One fact should have ended this discourse before it started: Taylor Swift has never said anything about Israel. Not one statement, not one post, in the entire span of the war. Every conspiracy theory about her Zionism is built on the same substitute for evidence—the Jews standing next to her.
