Have Harry and Meghan Learned Their Lesson?

I enjoy celebrity gossip as much as the next person. At first, the story of Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, was a charming one: two people from very different worlds finding each other and forging a path forward. I enjoyed the sweet notes of their courtship and commitment to each other. And I understood that, however much we wanted to frame their relationship as a fairy tale, it would not be one, at least not one of the more sanitized versions.

For a time, though, we did imagine a remarkable change in the largely obdurate institution of the monarchy. Their relationship made the monarchy seem more accessible, more connected to the real world........
