Though Ukraine’s attacks against a major Russian chemical plant are not new, a more complete picture of the damage they have managed to inflict is emerging.

During the summer of 2026, the Ukrainian military has repeatedly attacked targets deep inside Russia, far behind the battle lines. The aim of the strikes is to degrade Russia’s war machine, ensuring that critical supplies cannot make it to the front lines and blunting potential Russian Army offensives before they begin.

As part of this effort, the Ukrainians have zeroed in on a particularly valuable target: Russian chemical plants, which play a vital role in both Russia’s overall economy and in supplying its army with munitions.
