The Russian military is setting up drone bases near the border with NATO that could support strikes against Europe in the future—posing a new threat to the alliance’s eastern flank at a time of historic tensions.

Russian Drone Bases Could Strike Far into Europe

The Russian military has established or upgraded 10 bases for its unmanned aerial systems in areas close to the borders with Belarus and Ukraine, according to European intelligence reports shared with the British newspaper The Telegraph. The bases include nearly 60 newly constructed launch rails that can support strike drone launches.
