Brian Feeney: Jeffrey Donaldson’s career was built on lies
JEFFREY Donaldson will forever be remembered for his precipitous fall from grace on Good Friday 2024, when the news gradually emerged of his arrest for sexual assault and rape.
It took two years before the final denouement with his conviction in Newry Crown Court on those charges.
He should also be remembered for his lies, hypocrisy, intellectual dishonesty, unreliability and disloyalty.
It is astonishing that for 23 years, from 1985-2008, as he rose to the top echelons of the UUP and then switched to the DUP, he was repeatedly abusing two children as they grew into adolescence.
