The Democratic National Committee is expected to vote on the 2028 presidential primary calendar at its summer meeting this week in Austin, Texas. The party is expected to approve a schedule with South Carolina’s primary first on Jan. 22, followed by Nevada on Feb. 1.

The meeting comes as some Democrats say they have lost patience with DNC Chair Ken Martin and as the party barrels toward a critical midterm election.

President Trump on Wednesday announced the departure of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, with colleagues lauding her work since the news broke. No replacement has been announced.

Details continue to trickle out on the Air Force One ruse that had Trump fly from Turkey to the U.K. last month in an unmarked military jet. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent both flew on the decoy Air Force One, an official confirmed to The Associated Press.

Intelligence picked up by the U.S. and Turkey about an Iranian plot would try to hit the presidential jet with a missile prompted the swap, CBS News reported.

Trump is set to sign an executive order on Thursday, amid policy meetings and an intelligence briefing.........
