Trump drops Easter Sunday f-bomb in new threat to Iran

President Trump on Sunday morning unleashed on Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to strike the country’s infrastructure and urging Tehran to “open the F—in’ Strait, you crazy bastards.”

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F—in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

Trump on Saturday threatened to rain “all hell” down on Iran as the U.S. headed toward a self-imposed deadline on Monday for the Middle Eastern country to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for the oil industry that has been effectively closed since the conflict began in late February. Oil prices have continued to rise since the conflict began.

“Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT,” the president said in a Truth Social post. “Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”

The Strait of Hormuz has been a key point of contention for Trump, who has fixated his anger on NATO countries reliant on energy exports from the maritime trade route, as the conflict in Iran escalates. He has sought to compel U.S. allies to intervene in the region.

These countries, however, have taken a different approach. The United Kingdom on Thursday brought together 41 countries to discuss plans to get the Strait open again, placing blame on Tehran for keeping the international economy “hostage.”

U.S. allies have expressed frustration over the U.S.-Israeli joint military operations in Iran, specifically over the lack of planning to keep the Strait open as well as the lack of coordination with allies ahead of the initial strikes.

French President Emmanuel Macron, for example, has criticized the conflict in Iran and has shot down Trump’s push for European nations to enter offensive operations to reopen the Strait.

“They cannot then complain about not being supported in an operation they decided on their own. It is not our operation,” Macron said Thursday.

Trump’s Sunday threat follows a U.S. military strike against the largest bridge in Iran last Thursday. The B1 bridge in north-central Iran appeared to be hit twice and Trump shared video of the aftermath.

The bridge was hit by the U.S. forces, according to a U.S. defense official, “eliminating a planned military supply route for sustaining Iran’s ballistic missile and attack drone force.”
