Judge demands Trump administration comply with asylum order

A federal judge chastised the Trump administration for ignoring a ruling last week ordering them to immediately resume processing of immigration applications paused in the wake of a deadly shooting on National Guard officers.

U.S. District Judge John McConnell last week found the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was unlawfully pausing immigration processing for nationals from a number of countries, halting legal immigration and leaving migrants in limbo as they seek green cards or await naturalization ceremonies.

Last Friday McConnell vacated the policies, but plaintiffs went back to the judge, saying DHS had failed to begin processing anew.
