Trump-backed Moore heads to runoff against Hudson in Alabama GOP Senate primary

The Republican primary for Senate in Alabama is projected to head to a runoff between Rep. Barry Moore (R-Ala.) and U.S. Navy Seal Jared Hudson, according to Decision Desk HQ.

The rivals are battling in an open race to replace Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), who is exiting the upper chamber to lodge a bid for governor of the Cotton State.

Moore and Hudson will face off again next month in a June 16 showdown, as no candidate garned over half of the vote for the GOP nod.
