It’s Tuesday. Pull out those white pants and white shoes because we have made it to the unofficial start of summer! Though, tbh, that’s a dumb ~rule~.

A big setback for Republicans in Alabama:

A court blocked Alabama Republicans’ congressional map that would have given the GOP an opportunity to win more seats in the midterms.

Instead?: Alabama will have to use a court-ordered voting map that added a second majority-Black district.

Is this fight over?: Republican leaders can appeal this directly to the Supreme Court.

Should all federal workers sign an NDA?:

The Trump administration thinks so. The Washington Post reports that the White House is planning to ban federal workers from sharing any confidential information.

It’s not just classified information: “The draft notice, which will be published Wednesday and be open for a 30-day public comment period, uses an expansive definition of privileged information, beyond typical classified and unclassified designations. The draft blocks employees from sharing ‘non-public, confidential, or proprietary information’ or ‘any sensitive, pre-decisional or deliberative material that is not currently publicly available and should not be disclosed under applicable law.’”

John Cornyn’s last stand:

Texas Sen. John Cornyn (R) is facing off against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today in a runoff to decide who will battle Democrat James Talarico in November.

Despite being a well-respected, powerful Republican senator, serving on Senate GOP leadership and voting with President Trump most of the time Cornyn is the underdog who will likely lose today.

And despite facing numerous legal, ethical and political scandals, including a 2023 impeachment trial, Paxton is poised to beat........
