Rahm Emanuel says Democrats can do a better job linking 2 key issues

(NewsNation) — Affordability and fighting corruption are central to the Democrats’ midterm message, but former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel sees the two issues as “heads and tails of the same coin.”

“The president of the United States gets a $450 million gift from Qatar — Air Force One — and you’re getting $4.50 a gallon of gas,” Emanuel said during a recent NewsNation town hall.

Emanuel, who served under the Obama administration, gave Democrats a “B ” for their messaging but thinks they could do a better job connecting affordability and corruption.

“The president is giving them, and Republicans are giving them, an endless amount of material,” he said.

Government corruption topped the list of voter concerns in a recent Fox News survey, with 60 percent saying they were “extremely concerned” about it. Inflation ranked second at 58 percent.
