(NEXSTAR) – More than 180 new Aldi stores were expected to open this year, and several of those are gearing up to welcome shoppers just in time for the holidays. 

The international discount supermarket chain revealed in January that it planned to open dozens of new locations throughout the U.S. with the goal of “making it even easier for customers to shop our aisles first,” CEO Atty McGrath said in a press release.

It wasn’t clear at the time, however, where exactly Aldi would expand to. The grocer did share that the supermarkets would open in 31 states, with 80 alone planned for the Southeast.
