All Set In Islamabad, Lush Green Margalla Is Ready To Welcome The World Leaders
Congratulations, Pakistan has done what no one could do in the last 50 years. Now Pakistan has emerged as a regional power and a leader of global peace. Thanks to Modi for starting a war with Pakistan.
Thanks to President Trump and Netanyahu for attacking Iran. Some thanks also to Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal General Asim Munir for deciding to join the Gaza Peace Board despite strong opposition. Despite uneven, bumpy, and constant instability, Pakistan is an important military power.
It is probably the only country in the world that has been directly involved in wars since the 1980s. Pakistan has fought five wars with its traditional rival, India. It has always suffered from economic instability, but it has still achieved many successes, including becoming a nuclear power.
International politics depends not only on opportunities but on their best use. On the night between 6 and 7 May, when the Indian military attacked Pakistan, none of the Indian leadership, including Modi, had any idea how terrible the outcome could be for India.
After 7 May, 10 May was a historic turning point in Indo-Pak history. It was the most terrible dream that will continue to terrorise India for a long time in the future. After the May 2025 Indo-Pak war, the United States took a U-turn on its pawn, India, against China.
International relations, or world politics, do not require the behaviour of an angry boy; rather, world politics is about seizing the opportunities emerging on the global political horizon with the best wisdom and using them to one’s advantage with great effort. Pakistani media and political circles had severely criticised participation in the Gaza Peace Board introduced by American President Donald Trump.
Similar criticism was made of the Pakistani government when Islamabad nominated US President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. In fact, this was not a recognition of the services of the US President for peace, but a smart diplomatic move to further sway President Trump in favour of Pakistan.
After the May 2025 Indo-Pakistan summit, US President Trump was constantly reminding India that, under the military leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir and the political leadership of Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan defeated the Indian Army. It was actually further inflating Trump’s ego so that his support could be maintained on the global political scene, especially in regional politics.
If Pakistan had not joined the Gaza Peace Board, mediation between Iran and the United States would not have been possible after the American and Israeli attacks on Iran. The historical significance of this mediation is that Pakistan does not recognise Israel as a state, but despite this, the US imposed Pakistan’s mediation on Israel.
It is quite possible that when President Trump comes to sign the Islamabad agreement, he will not go to Delhi
It is quite possible that when President Trump comes to sign the Islamabad agreement, he will not go to Delhi
On a bright morning on Sunday, 12 April, US President JD Vance announced that no agreement had been reached with Iran and left for the US from Chaklala Air Base. At the same time, wise diplomatic circles and political minds in capitals around the world were watching the Islamabad talks closely.
They were undoubtedly hopeful that the Islamabad talks were moving towards success. After the Islamabad talks, JD Vance’s three-minute and 20-second statement on the world’s most important hot issue, and then the statement of the head of the Iranian delegation, Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, indicated that the negotiations are not over but are ongoing.
The gossip that started in Islamabad on 14–15 April has now turned into reality. All is set in Islamabad; soon, the green Margalla Hills will welcome President Trump, the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, most probably Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the most important leaders of the Gulf.
Pakistan has done what even the best presidents of America and the military might of a superpower could not do in 50 years. It is a different matter that Delhi and its cronies are very anxious about it. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has returned to Islamabad after visiting Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.
Field Marshal Asim Munir’s arrival in Tehran like a conqueror via the air of Afghanistan, and the warm embrace of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, indicate that the draft of the Islamabad agreement is in the final stages of preparation. This visit of the Field Marshal does not only have a military aspect, but two senior officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present with him.
Beijing’s role in bringing the world back safely from the brink of World War III is certainly silent, but its importance cannot be denied. China is the region’s most important stakeholder in the current crisis. Although China’s best and most sincere advice has been available to Tehran, probably some practical help has also been available.
China is trying to convince Kabul, too, to focus on improving its domestic affairs instead of imposing tribal Islam in the region. Those who talk about defeating the US and Russia, who are not afraid of the consequences, are not able to understand that Russia’s failed withdrawal from Afghanistan was possible only because of Pakistan.
Pakistan also suffered the accusation of a double game in Afghanistan, but Islamabad continued to help the Afghans. There is no doubt that Pakistan also had its national interests in it, and every state has the right to protect its national interests.
If Kabul responds to more than 40 years of cooperation with support for the TTP and the BLA, then the use of Pakistani military power can continue, which is not something “Kabul and Kandahar” can give a practical response to; emotional rhetoric is a different matter.
The question in all this is, what did Pakistan get? First of all, Pakistan’s reputation has been restored at the global level. The allegation of supporting terrorists has been washed away.
Now, Pakistan has emerged as a frontrunner of peace at the global level. Actually, Pakistan has emerged as a creator of peace rather than a mediator in this crisis, which has resolved the biggest cause of instability in the world, the Israel-Iran conflict.
You may disagree with this, but this is my humble opinion. It is very likely that, after this, the Palestinian issue will also be resolved.
America will no longer be America. In the context of the defence agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Israel will no longer be a major threat to the Arabs because the Pakistani military has assumed its position in Saudi Arabia.
India will no longer be the India whose Foreign Minister and Defence Minister used to stand on stage with American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and threaten to teach Pakistan a lesson by declaring it a terrorist just a few years ago.
It is quite possible that when President Trump comes to sign the Islamabad agreement, he will not go to Delhi. The world has now become multipolar instead of unipolar.
A new bloc consisting of China, Russia, Pakistan, the most important country in the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Iran is now a reality. Who knows, after Modi, there may be another Vajpayee in India, and the second biggest conflict in the world, the biggest cause of instability in South Asia, the Kashmir issue, may be resolved.
After the resolution of these two crises, there may not be any terrorist potential left in the Taliban.
But all of this depends on whether Washington and Tel Aviv can regain the credibility they have lost over the past six or seven weeks. Donald Trump in Washington and Netanyahu in Tel Aviv are at their lowest levels of popularity.
