The American public has generally accepted that part of having constitutionally protected speech free of government prosecution means people are able to say mean things. But with leftists’ increasing radicalism and the importation of the Third World, that acceptance is becoming more and more endangered.

That’s the dynamic at play in the case of Shiloh Hendrix, a Minnesota mother found guilty of disorderly conduct on Thursday. The conviction came in relation to an incident that occurred last year, in which Hendrix reportedly called an 8-year-old autistic Somali boy a racial slur after he allegedly took an item from her infant son’s diaper bag on a Rochester playground.

The jury did not convict Hendrix on the charge of disorderly conduct toward the child, but on a charge related to her saying the slur to a Somali man who filmed and taunted her after the incident occurred. As a result, she has been sentenced to a stayed 90-day jail sentence, along with supervised probation, 200 hours of community service, and a $1,000 fine. Her defense attorney has signaled he will appeal the decision.
