Federalist Contributor Michael Alfonso won a decisive victory Tuesday night to be the GOP nominee for a Wisconsin-based U.S. House seat. If elected this fall, he would become the youngest member of Congress.
Unfinalized results show that, with more than 95 percent of votes tabulated, Alfonso, 26, is projected to win the Republican primary for the Badger State’s 7th Congressional District with 48.9 percent of the vote. Fellow contenders Kevin Hermening and Jessi Ebben are projected to finish second and third with 26.6 and 15.7 percent support, respectively.
Candidates Niina Baum and Don Raihala each received less than 10 percent of the vote.
