India's unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty has endangered regional peace and security. Apart from the fact that the move is in contravention of international law, it has thrown to the wind the decorum of a good neighborhood, as well as the rights of the lower riparian state. This illegality of the Indian repudiation of the IWT necessitates a collective response from the comity of nations - especially international arbitration institutions - to ensure that water, as a fundamental right to life, is not used as a weapon........
