Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has compared the feuding within the Coalition to Married at First Sight, while Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg likened it to Days of Our Lives.

5pm. Home and Away: Long-running soap opera depicting the double lives of MPs as they charge taxpayers to fund a home in their electorate and another in Canberra. Warning: contains deceptive language, explicit scenes of expenses rorting and lengthy journeys on the legendary Gravy Train that may offend naive viewers.

6pm: Movie Premiere. The Hunger Games: First-home buyers compete in a brutal contest against property investors, beneficiaries of intergenerational wealth, underquoting agents, an uncaring Reserve Bank and aficionados of negative gearing. Warning: includes graphic depictions of broken dreams, bitter betrayals and acts of outright banking bastardry.

7.30pm. Stranger Things: Sci-fi drama based on long-held conspiracy theories. Stars Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce. After discovering a wormhole in the fabric of the universe that lures disenchanted voters into a mysterious underworld realm resembling 1980s Australia, Pauline and Barnaby stumble upon a secretive government program encouraging hordes of terrifying aliens to occupy suburbs and steal the jobs of hard-working Australians.

8.30pm. Lost: Acclaimed drama series following everyday Australians battling to survive in rural and regional areas with patchy and non-existent mobile phone signals. This week Bill and Trevor find themselves hours from home without Google Maps and are forced to rely on advice from a local publican to "take a few lefts and a right just after the dry dam south of the last paddock to your north".

9pm. The Bold and the Beautiful: Exhaustively researched documentary examining every original, innovative and daring policy proposed by the main political parties this century.

9.02pm. The Young and the Restless: Disillusioned voters aged 18-34 flee the traditional parties, only to find themselves welcomed into the arms of a permanently outraged but ultimately ineffective cult dubbed "The Greens".

10pm. The Last of Us: Apocalyptic drama series. After a series of defections and bitter internal disputes, David Littleproud wakes from a self-induced coma to discover he is the sole remaining member of the National Party. Devastated by his breakup with long-time partner Sussan and forced to navigate a hostile Canberra landscape alone, David adopts a stray kelpie for companionship, only to learn it is plotting a leadership challenge against him.

11pm. NDIS: Crime Scene: Investigators uncover further rorts in the labyrinthine world of the $48 billion National Disability Insurance Scheme. Meanwhile, a frustrated team of NASA physicists and mathematicians turn to a supercomputer to unravel the complex and almost........
