Who Are We To Blame For Hundreds Of Thousands Of Migrants Who Now Might Get To Stay?

Over 900,000 migrants may have been paroled into the United States between May 16, 2023 and January 19, 2025, thanks to former President Joe Biden’s CBP One app. The Trump administration told those migrants to hit the road in April 2025. 

In an act of stunning overreach, a district court judge ordered the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Tuesday to restore the parole status of those potentially hundreds of thousands of migrants. In her ruling, U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs certified the following class: “All individuals who (i) scheduled their appointments for entry to the United States using the CBP One app; (ii) were paroled into the United States between May 16, 2023 and January 19, 2025; (iii) had their parole terminated in April 2025 pursuant to an email substantially similar to the one reproduced at paragraph 38 of the Complaint without any further explanation; and (iv) remain in the United States.”

That termination email reads, in part: “It is time for you to leave the United States. You are currently here because the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) paroled you into the United [States] for a limited parole period … DHS is now........
