It was supposed to be a special night for the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and the local community. The Diamond was in their rearview, and they were ready to christen the new stadium, CarMax Park.

Facing off against the Altoona Curve in what was also their 2026 home opener, the Flying Squirrels even went on to get the 3-2 win, doing so in front of almost 10,000 fans who showed up to........
