I’m watching the next Red Sox-Brewers game right now anticipating this moment … LMAO!
For most of his career, Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras has played in the National League Central, doing so as a member of the Chicago Cubs and then as a part of the St. Louis Cardinals. (RELATED: Giants’ Tony Vitello Sees His First MLB Ejection Just Before San Francisco Chokefest)
With this being the case, Contreras has faced off against the Milwaukee Brewers a lot, and his hatred for them runs deep. And that’s especially true considering the Brewers have seen multiple changes when it comes to the leadership of the organization, as well as who is on the roster. On top of that, Contreras is in a completely new division and league. Yeah, it’s that deep.
The Red Sox and Brewers kicked off their three-game series Monday night, and during that game, Milwaukee had starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff on the mound, who happens to have had the highest amount of run-ins with Contreras. In other words, the two have history, and it goes back years. The main heat between the two is that Contreras has gotten hit by Woodruff’s pitches quite a bit, this because of Woodruff liking to pitch inside. And not just that, but Contreras has a stance and swing that brings him closer to home plate.

Monday night, Woodruff ended up hitting Contreras yet again, and needless to say, he wasn’t a fan. And not only did he get angry at Woodruff, he did a hard slide at second base in an attempt to halt a double play at one point, and then afterwards, proceeded to shout at Milwaukee players and staffers for the rest of the contest.

Following the game, Contreras kept it an absolute bean regarding what his plans are for the next time he gets blasted with a pitch by the Brewers, and uh, well, I’ll just say, things escalated quickly.
“They always say, ‘I’m not trying to hit you.’ That gets old,” said Contreras to the media. “So next time they hit me again, I’m going to take one of them out. That’s the message.”
Willson Contreras on the tension between him & the #Brewers: “It’s not just a hit by pitch. That’s the 24th time [the Brewers have] hit me in my career. That’s the 6th time [Woodruff] hit me… it’s not coincidence… they’re gonna hit me again, and we’ll see what happens.” 😳… pic.twitter.com/lf9bbLw3ue — NESN (@NESN) April 7, 2026

But it’s not over! When we got to Tuesday night, Contreras struck out, and just check out this stare down from Contreras towards Brewers starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski after the fact, triggered by an amped up celebration from Misiorowski.
