KATY GORDON: Comments on my column show that our campaign is just what Perth needs
Thank you all for your comments about my article on The Courier website and social media which looked at proposals by the council to reduce traffic in Perth city centre.
Regardless of where each person falls on the issue it was clear to see how strongly people feel about Perth and making it the best city it can be.
The truth is, there’s no one way to go about it.
But there are definitely inroads that can be made to make things a bit better.
Which is why I am a big backer of the joint campaign launched this week by The Courier, The Press & Journal and The Sunday Post to try and get help for our high streets.
Perth and other towns and cities needs a Fresh Start
Fresh Start aims to put pressure on the Scottish Government to relax business rates for local traders to make it a bit easier to open up, and keep open, shops in our towns and cities.
As folk who have started a business know, the first 12 months can be the toughest.
You are trying to grow a loyal customer base, may doing a bit of trial and error on products and services to see what works and what doesn’t, even just recruiting staff and “bedding in”.
So by asking........
