Every monsoon, rising rivers force thousands of families across Bihar to prepare for the same fear: water entering their homes, roads disappearing and entire neighbourhoods being cut off.

Along the Ganga, however, one house has been built for the flood.

As the river rises, the home rises with it.

A home inspired by nature’s challenges

The idea came to Prashant Kumar after witnessing the widespread destruction caused by monsoon floods in Bihar. Trained as an engineer and later drawn to art and sustainable living, he began asking a simple question: What if a house could float when the water levels........
