Hiring practices must adapt in a nuanced, post-NIL landscape
This article is NOT anti-players, athletes, individuals, unions, rights, the free market, payments, scholarships, NIL, sponsorships, etc. A college athlete making money through NIL or transferring from one school to another does not affect my day job, pay my mortgage or help my children with their homework. But I do have an observation (or two) — mostly regarding items that have not yet been fully or seriously discussed.
No one is asking for my credentials, but explaining where I am coming from might help frame the following observations, questions and advice.
