Newport County hero among those honoured by the King for services to the community
Norm Parselle, the driving force behind Newport County AFC’s charitable foundation, County in the Community, has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s Birthday Honours for his outstanding service to sport and the local community.
A former player and lifelong supporter of the club, Parselle has led County in the Community since its launch in 2013, growing it into a major force for good across Newport and beyond. The organisation now reaches over 7,000 children each year, delivering school and community programmes that span from early childhood to older adult participation, including walking football.
