Calvin Robinson learned from a Fairfield Police Department social media post that his sister was missing. He lives in Los Angeles but knew he had to get to the Bay Area immediately.

“My life has kind of been on pause, and I don’t mind,” Calvin Robinson told SFGATE. “I love her. That’s my sister. I’m going to do anything I can to help bring her back.”

Chantel Brooks, 37, went missing on July 17 — nearly three months ago. Security cameras at her job at Le Nain Hotel, a single-room occupancy supportive housing complex in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, captured her after she left work around 12:20 a.m. She was wearing a brown, multicolored brimmed hat, a red zip-up sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a pair of brown furry boots, the Fairfield Police Department wrote in a Facebook post on Aug. 5, its first post about her disappearance.

She was then spotted around 1:45 a.m. at the 24-hour CVS on the 300 block of East Travis Boulevard in Fairfield, where she lives, before approaching her black Infiniti SUV. No one has seen her since, and on Aug. 18, the Fairfield Police Department posted on Facebook that it believed Brooks’ disappearance “involved foul play.”

Brooks remains missing, and her family is determined to find her. In interviews with SFGATE, they talked about the person at the center of the investigation.

“I want people to understand that my sister is more than a missing persons flyer or a news headline,” Calvin Robinson told SFGATE in a text message. “She’s a daughter, a sister, a friend and a woman with dreams that still deserve to come true.”
