Bay Area parole bust reveals quarter-ton fireworks stash

On Friday, detectives from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said they seized about a quarter-ton of fireworks, illegal in unincorporated Alameda County, from a wanted felon during a parole sweep. The bust comes as a tougher county ordinance aimed to rein in this kind of activity is about to set in ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.
