DMV snafu means over 300,000 Californians need new Real ID

About 325,000 California residents will have to get new IDs thanks to a nearly 20-year-old software glitch, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
In a news release issued on Dec. 31, DMV officials said about 1.5% of California Real IDs will need to be reissued.
