Uber is slashing 3,300 jobs in a company-wide management overhaul

The cuts represent 10% of Uber's global workforce and will reduce the number of managers by 20%

Uber $UBER announced Wednesday that it will shed approximately 3,300 jobs — about 10% of its total headcount — as part of a broad overhaul designed to flatten its hierarchy and concentrate resources on ride-sharing, delivery, and autonomous vehicle operations.

Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi told employees in a companywide email that years of growth had introduced "more layers, more coordination, more fragmented ownership, and in some cases structures that made sense when businesses were smaller but no longer serve us well at our current scale."
