Emerson Convertible Crib
Solid pine construction and a metal mattress support helped this $600 crib earn the top score in Consumer Reports' 2026 testing. The crib converts into a toddler bed, though buyers need to purchase the conversion kit separately. CR testers found changing the mattress support height frustrating, since the task requires partially disassembling the frame. CR also noted that the crib's 39-inch rail height can make it hard for shorter caregivers to lift a baby in or out.
