What to Do if You Get Ghosted

Talk to any of your friends who have been dating, and they’ll probably have a ghosting story to tell. Ghosting is when someone you were forming a connection with suddenly vanishes—no explanation, no goodbye. It’s an immature way to avoid emotional discomfort, and while it reflects more on the ghoster than the ghosted, it’s hard not to take it personally.

Being ghosted feels like someone you trusted has suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. They stop texting, stop calling, and leave you without closure. It can be deeply painful, shaking your self-worth. You may wonder: What did I do wrong? Why wasn’t I good enough to deserve a response?
