What Careers Are Most Attractive in Dating
Are you single and wondering how "sexy" your career might be to dating prospects? After all, "What do you do?" is a question that comes up during first meetings fairly quickly, soon after "What's your name?" and "Is that a spider crawling on your shoulder?"
A survey recently conducted by the dating app The League asked its members what industries they would consider to be the most attractive for potential partners. Among female respondents, finance/business earned the most interest, and among male respondents, medicine/mental health seems to have gotten their hearts racing the most. That doesn't necessarily mean, though, that you have your work cut out for you, so to speak, if your career doesn't fall into one of the more favored industries.
The survey asked members of The League a range of different dating and career questions and had more than 600 respondents. Of the respondents, 62 percent were female and 38 percent were male. The vast majority of the respondents were Millennials (85 percent) with some Gen Zers (14 percent) and a smattering of Gen Xers (1 percent).
As alluded to earlier, for the most attractive industry question, there were sex differences between what people found sexy. Among women, 78 percent listed finance/business. Second-place was a tie between medical/mental health and tech/engineering, with each being listed by 73 percent of female respondents.
