LETTER: P.E.I. health-care system is in code blue

Matt MacFarlane, leader of the Green Party of P.E.I., is leading the charge for an urgent town hall meeting. This was precipitated by a letter signed by 93 Island doctors to the premier of Prince Edward Island expressing their loss of confidence in the leadership of then Health P.E.I. chief executive officer, Melanie Fraser.

The letter focused on the ongoing tensions and dissatisfaction among doctors regarding the health system’s management and operational challenges. It also raised the concern regarding the strained relationship between frontline workers and Health P.E.I., leading to Fraser’s departure. This is like a bad dream, but sadly it is not a dream, it is the doctors’ reality!

I find this situation to be a very sad commentary.  Doctors are the backbone of our health-care system.  Where is the respect they deserve?........
