It turns out many of us got our knickers in a knot last week for no good reason.

Here I was, all set to put finger to keyboard to take a strip off Premier Doug Ford for having the Ontario government purchase a $28.9 million jet for him, when he turns around almost the next day and puts the plane up for sale.

You simply can’t rely on politicians to keep their word about anything these days.

He won’t be “leaving on a jet plane” after all. At least one owned by the government (read “people”) of Ontario. There are always private jets for charter, and no one would begrudge him that if and when needed. There is always business class on commercial airlines, although he would meet more people if he flew coach.
