The Art Gallery of Peterborough opens two new summer exhibits
Community members are invited to the Art Gallery of Peterborough (AGP) to celebrate the opening of Lyn Carter: The Pinks and the 42nd Annual KAST Selections Exhibit on Saturday, July 11 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Pinks is an immersive animation and sound installation featuring six relatable, but non-human creatures. The exhibition is organized and circulated by the Woodstock Art Gallery.
“Though animation based, The Pinks is primarily sculptural for me with movement and sound added to the mix,” says Lyn Carter. “In the endless loop of each animation, each Pink is dealing with impositions on their being and habitat that seem outside their control. The pinks are responding with frustration, bewilderment and anger but they are also defiant and determined.”
The Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour (KAST) offers the public a chance to view art in the working spaces of artists in our region, with artists practicing across a range of styles and mediums, from Stoney Lake to Keene.
